4.10.0

Update instructions: Remove mod SmartSkills.

  • Added many new locations from More World Locations. It is currently NOT RECOMMENDED to use Upgrade World to add new locations in an existing world as this overrides Ashlands Waypoints for whatever reason.
  • Increased stamina usage of all One-Handed and Two-Handed Weapons by +50%. Part of the previous update was increasing stamina regen based on bonus stamina from food and stamina cost of certain combat actions like dodge and block to make up for it. This update completes the combat stamina changes by increasing the stamina usage of weapons.
  • Disabled skill loss on death. Part of the modpack experience is adopting a Soulslike death. Vanilla Valheim punishes players too much for dying which can discourage exploration. Additionally, the new changes to bosses during the previous update likely means you will die more often.
  • Skill experience gain reduced by -75%. In order to make up for the 0% skill loss on death, experience gain for all skills has been reduced by -75%. If skill leveling feels too slow for you, always remember that you can buy Trainer Books from Traders which will increase a skill level by +1.
  • Disabled all RTMN recipes. This modpack began with RTMN but has since evolved far past it. Removed all the remaining RTMN recipes to prevent players from crafting other custom RTMN items. Most of the RTMN items have been replaced with mods such as Catharis Consumables. In version 5.0.0, all RTMN items will be removed.
  • Health potions no longer have an effective cooldown.
  • Ashlands Waypoints can now spawn in very shallow water such as the shores of Ashlands. Requires new world.
  • Traders will no longer have dynamic prices and will not store coins.
  • Reverted Rhydderch Hel's attack speed increase.
  • Updated legacy Deathbound Ring description.
  • Draugr and Fuling ships are less likely to spawn. They will not spawn during the winter.
  • Increased noBuild area of Ashlands Fortresses. (Requires location reset.)
  • There should now be a total of 30 Charred Fortresses with 3 varieties. (Requires new world)

4.9.0

This update focuses on rebalancing the Forsaken. All Forsaken are less tanky but hit harder and faster. The goal is to provide players an experience where fighting a Forsaken will test your combat skills and preparedness. Additionally, a few new changes to stamina are included but the new combat and stamina update is still a work-in-progress.

  • The Forsaken will no longer spawn with stars and infusions
  • The Forsaken will now despawn and drop their summoning materials when a player dies and no other players within 100 meters of the Forsaken are alive

  • Removed base stamina earned from leveling skills.
  • All fishing activities reduced stamina cost by half.

  • Creatures will no longer spawn with the regenerating affix
  • Increase spawn chance of Razor Back from 18% to 30%. Spawn interval decreased from 750s to 600s.

Ashlands Tweaks Update

  • Updated mod WackysDatabase to 2.4.79.

  • Dvergers can raid you if you've committed a sin against them. Don't worry, the mages won't come for you.
  • Hersirs will defend Charred Fortresses when under siege. Hersirs are elite Charred units with a small army of their own.
  • Reduced hearing, alert, and sight range of many Ashlands creatures. Charred Melee and Lava Blob have reduced hearing range similar to Deathsquito (30) and alert range similar to Draugr (10). Charred Mages and Charred Archers have reduced hearing range similar to Deathsquito (30) and alert range of 20. Asksvin have hearing (15), alert (6), and view range (15) of Lox.
  • All Ashlands world spawners increased interval rate by double. This should give vikings some breathing room when exploring Ashlands.
  • Monuments and Effigies increased maximum creature close range from 4 to 6 but reduced total maximum creature from 100 to 6. Decreased the distance at which it checks for this from 1000 to 100. Increased activation range from 60 to 200.
  • Morgen will only spawn at night time. Morgen are often found in dark places - Putrid Holes and burrowed underground. It makes sense for them to spawn only at night.
  • All Ashlands creatures have their HP increased by +25% and their DMG increased by +40% (excluding Lava Blob) to balance the difficulty.
  • Charred Marksman and Charred Mages will not be staggered when parried. In the future, all ranged creatures will not be staggered when parried.
  • Asksvin turn a bit faster. To make up for its lower senses.
  • Increased multiplayer creature HP bonus from 40% to 66% per player. Creature DMG increased from 4% to 5% per player.
  • Disabled non-linear stamina regeneration. Stamina will regenerate at a linear rate again (vanilla).
  • Ashlands Waypoints located in lava will now have a little island around it. (Requires new world or manual location regeneration.)
  • Removed a bunch of unused files.
