BloonModpackBaseMod

Base mod for an upcoming modpack, adds various changes.

CHANGELOG

1.5.1

  • Added Vanilla Void as a soft dependency

  • Burn damage now has the "Bypass Armor" damage type, mostly to fix a bugged interaction between Crucifix (Too Many Items) and Armor Plate/Planula

  • Fixed Eclipse Revamped E1 Teleporter Scaling applying outside of Eclipse (for real this time)

  • Item Balance Changes

    • Crucifix (Too Many Items)

      • Reduced burn damage from 30% HP to 20% HP
      • Increased burn damage reduction per stack from 8% to 10%
      • Reduced damage resistance from 100% to 95%
      • Now also reduces all healing received by 50% (+50% per stack) while burning
      • Crucifix is a super cool concept, but the original execution was a bit unbalanced. I'm also just not the biggest fan of Lunars that have no downsides to stacking them, so the healing reduction kills 2 birds in one stone in terms of balance. I'd also recommend going into the mod's config and setting "Is Burn Stackable" to true.
    • Ignition Tank Rework

      • Reduced ignite damage bonus from 300% per stack to 200% per stack
      • Now also causes your hits to ignite enemies for 50% TOTAL damage, once every 8s (-15% per stack)
      • Here's my take on the common trope of giving Ignition Tank a way of proccing ignite on its own, I'm pretty proud of this one tbh.
    • Corrosive Core (Vanilla Void)

      • Now also grants an 6% chance on hit to apply Tar for 2s (+0.5s per stack)
      • Since Ignition Tank was getting a change, it only made sense to also give one to its void counterpart, especially since Corrosive Core already felt like it was a bit weaker compared to Ignition Tank.
    • Coffee Bag

      • Now has a small chance to drop no coffee beans on kill (changed range from 1-4 to 0-4)
      • This item still felt a bit too strong even after the recent nerf, so this should help tone it down a bit.
  • Old Fathomless Voidling

    • Reduced the number of Void Anglers spawned per teleport from 4 to 3
    • Significantly reduced the stat boosts given to the spawned anglers

1.5.0

  • Added Eclipse Revamped, Too Many Items, and Skillsmas as soft dependencies

  • Fixed E1 teleporter scaling from Eclipse Revamped applying outside of Eclipse

  • Item Balance Changes

    • Bison Steak

      • Increased HP per stack from 25 to 30
      • Now also grants 1.5 hp/s Health Regen on kill for 3s (+1s per stack), up to a maximum of 3 hp/s (+1.5 hp/s per stack)
      • Bison Steak is notoriously a very bad item, so here's yet another take on combining it with the old Fresh Meat to make it better.
    • Chronic Expansion

      • Increased duration from 7s to 9s
      • Reduced damage from 3.5% (+1% per stack) to 3% (+0.5% per stack)
      • Chronic expansion is in a weird place where it's incredible strong, but it also just doesn't feel very good to use. The extra duration should help make it less stressful to maintain, while also decreasing the damage so that it isn't quite as OP when stacking it.
    • Milk Carton (Too Many Items)

      • Increased elite retaliation damage per stack from 100% to 200%
      • Now also grants +20 HP per stack
      • Milk Carton is an interesting concept but the elite revenge damage just didn't scale very well, and it also felt like it should also do a little of something else to make it worth taking.
    • Loaf Of Bread (Too Many Items)

      • Now has a 20% chance to regenerate whenever it scraps itself
      • This should make it more worth it to actually fully "bake" the bread instead of just throwing it into a scrapper.
    • Bolstering Lantern

      • Reduced attack speed bonus from 10% (+5% per stack) to 9% (+4.5% per stack)
      • Lantern still felt like it overshadowed other attack speed items after the recent changes, so this should help keep it in balance. I might consider further reworking it later to give you more than just attack speed (potentially cooldown reductions or health regen), but I think it's fine for right now.
    • Bone Visor

      • Changed proc chance from 5% (+2.5% per stack) to 6% (+1.5% per stack)
      • Reduced buff duration from 8s (+1s per stack) to 5s (+1s per stack)
      • Bone Visor definitely felt way too strong with the amount of barrier it could give at just a single stack, this should help balance it out.
    • Prototype Jet Boots

      • Changed base damage from 400% (+200% per stack) to 450% (+150% per stack)
    • Wake Of Vultures

      • No longer causes Voidtouched Elites to drop their aspects
      • The Voidtouched aspect is just extremely broken and instantly run-winning, there's a reason why it never drops naturally in vanilla. I think it works fine as an extremely rare drop via mods, but my Wake Of Vultures rework threw that aspect of it (pun intended) completely out of balance.
  • Survivor Balance Changes

    • Acrid = Autonomous Organism (Skillsmas)

      • Changed from a Utility Skill to a Special Skill
      • This one always felt weird to me as a utility, and considering that the other special skill for Acrid from Skillsmas doesn't work right now, I think it makes a lot of sense to just shift this one over into its place.
  • Cleaned up code

1.4.2

  • Item Balance Changes

    • Added Wake Of Vultures Rework

      • You deal 50% (+50% per stack) more damage to elites above half health. Upon killing an elite monster, heal for 20% of your total health and gain a 5% (+5% per stack) chance for the monster's elite aspect to drop.
      • Wake of Vultures is pretty infamously one of the worst red items in the entire game, and I find that a lot of that boils down to it forcing shields upon you whenever certain elite types are killed, as well as it just not being very consistent. These changes should hopefully fix that and make it a much more valuable item to pick up.
    • Armor Piercing Rounds

      • Now also grants a 5% (+5% per stack) damage bonus against elites.
      • Armor-Piercing Rounds was never really a BAD item, but it did feel a bit underwhelming due to it having limited use cases.
    • Prototype Jet Boots (Starstorm 2)

      • Reduced base damage from 500% to 400%
      • Now gains an additional 200% damage per item stack
      • This thing only ever stacking radius never really felt right to me, if I'm being honest.

1.4.1

  • Fixed Coffee Bag and Plasma Slash text being inaccurate

1.4.0

  • Removed most mod dependencies

    • The removed dependencies (listed on the readme) are no longer required for the mod to run, though they are recommended
  • Fixed Void Anglers that spawn during the Voidling fight having extremely high stats

  • Item Balance Changes

    • Added Substandard Duplicator Rework

      • 8% chance on kill to drop a random temporary item. You get an extra copy of any temporary items you pick up, and your temporary items last 30s (+30s per stack) longer.
      • On-kill effect cannot be triggered by fake kills (such as Forgive Me Please)
      • The idea behind Substandard Duplicator is really cool, but it breaks some modded items as well as the yeet mod. This change should give it a much bigger focus on temporary items as a whole without completely breaking certain interactions (RIP infinite 400 Tickets).
    • Coffee Bag

      • Reduced max beans per kill from 5 to 4
      • This item was honestly just a bit too strong for being a common item, this should keep it more in line with being a weaker berserker's pauldron.
    • Bungus

      • Further reduced activation time from 0.6s to 0.5s
      • More Bungus buff :3
    • Bolstering Lantern

      • Max buff stacks is now 5, and doesn't increase with item count
      • Further increased attack speed stacking from 4% to 5%
      • This item felt way too broken at high stacks after the previous changes, this should make it feel better at 1 stack while also making it still be good with more stacks
  • Survivor Balance Changes

    • Amp - Surge (Utility)

      • Increased damage from 500% to 800%
      • Now has slight damage falloff
      • Damage from this skill felt a bit weak, and it doesn't have the mobility of the alt utility. Decided to buff the damage of it to give it a unique identity.
    • Amp - Plasma Slash (Secondary)

      • Further increased grounded damage from 800% to 950%
      • Further increased airborne damage from 600% to 700%
      • Plasma slash is good, but the windup for it just didn't pay off as well as it should have.
    • Amp - Ferroshot (Secondary)

      • Increased damage from 140% to 160%
  • Cleaned up code

  • Significantly updated Readme and added a to-do list of potential upcoming changes

1.3.2

  • More Item Balance Changes

    • Warped Echo (original rework from FlatItemBuff)

      • I like the rework that this got from FlatItemBuff, but it has too much overlap with Scintillating Jet (from Bubbet's items), and it was also just WAY too strong with the amount of armor stacking you could get
      • No longer grants armor
      • Now grants +15% Attack Speed/Move Speed and 10% Cooldown Reduction per item stack while the buff is active
    • Bustling Fungus

      • Reduced activation time from 1s to 0.6s
      • I wanted to buff Bungus without making it even more broken on Engi, and this seemed like the best (and most fun) way to do it
    • Chance Doll

      • Rarity upgrade chance is now fixed at 50%, regardless of item stacks
      • Now has an additional effect: Whenever a Shrine Of Chance fails, gain a 10% (+10% per stack) chance for free White Scrap to drop

1.3.1

  • Amp Changes

    • Modified Shockblade (Primary)

      • Increased proc coefficient from 0.1 to 1.0
    • Surge (Utility)

      • Temporary rework until the skill gets fixed
      • Charged. Blast yourself forwards, dealing 500% damage in an area.
    • Fulmination (Special)

      • Increased total damage from 1600% to 2000%
      • Reduced startup time by 0.5s
    • Plasma Slash (Secondary)

      • Increased grounded damage from 700% to 800%
      • Increased airborne damage from 500% to 600%
  • Added Luminous Shot compatibility for Amp and Mortician

  • Fixed Log Spam

1.3.0

  • Modded items update!

    • Haunted Lamp (Starstorm 2)

      • Increased damage from 200% (+200% per stack) to 300% (+300% per stack)
    • Coffee Bag (Starstorm 2)

      • Coffee Bag is a cool idea, but it has too much overlap with Photodiode (from Too Many Items), so I've decided to completely rework the effect
      • New Effect: Whenever you kill an enemy, they randomly spill up to 5 coffee beans that increase attack speed by 7.5% (+7.5% per stack) and movement speed by 7% (+7% per stack) for 5s each.
      • Coffee Bean pickups are now compatible with Collector's Compulsion
    • Bone Visor (Bubbet's Items)

      • Similar to Coffee Bag, this is a very cool item but it has too much overlap with Topaz Brooch
      • New Effect: 5% (+2.5% per stack) chance on hit to drop a bone shard that grants barrier regeneration for 8s (+1s per stack). Barrier regeneration grants 1% barrier per second and prevents temporary barrier decay.
      • Bone shard pickups are now compatible with Collector's Compulsion
      • Fixed Barrier Regeneration being able to infinitely generate barrier above the maximum limit
    • Toxicodendron Brine (Seeking The Void)

      • Very fun item, but it stacks pretty horribly
      • Now grants an additional 10% cooldown reduction per stack

1.2.4

  • Added a Bolstering Lantern buff

    • Increased attack speed scaling from +3.5% per stack to +4% per stack
    • Radius now increases by 1.5m per stack
    • Reduced buff delay from 3s to 0.5s (this affects how fast you'll get/lose the buff when an entity enters/leaves the radius)

1.2.3

  • Fixed stun grenade completely breaking damage interactions with Warped Echo (had to learn how IL hooks work for this)

1.2.2

  • Mortician

    • Reverted changes to the Ghoul bite, spit, and cling attacks
    • Reduced Ghoul base damage from 12 (2.4 per lv) to 8 (1.6 per lv)
    • Fixed issue with Ghouls not using their spit attack
    • Further increased Sacrifice damage from 850% to 925%
    • Further increased Ghoul/Tombstone launch damage from 500% to 600%
  • Added a Stun Grenade buff

    • Stun Grenade now deals 200% base damage whenever it procs
  • Added a language file for changes made with this mod, so that the modpack text edits are no longer required

1.2.1

  • Fixed Mithrix phase 4 Lunar Wisps having a base damage stat of 0.75 (oops)

  • Added some changes to Voidling (old fathomless version, since I don't really like the new one)

    • Now spawns 3 Void Anglers (from the enemy abilities mod) whenever it teleports
    • Meteor attack now fires less meteors, but does much more damage

1.2.0

  • Added balance changes for Nemesis Amp and Mortician (shouldn't require these mods to function)

    • Nemesis Amp

      • Increased Fulmination proc coefficient from 0.2 to 1
      • Reduced Fulmination tick rate from 0.333 to 0.4
    • Mortician

      • The Mortician is really fun, but is also INCREDIBLY overpowered. These changes should keep him more in line with other survivors while still making him fun to play by emphasizing his unique mechanics. Also note that these changes won't be reflected in the skill descriptions unless you have my modpack text edits installed.
      • Reduced Shovel Strike damage from 800% to 380%
      • Increased Ghoul/Tombstone launch damage from 350% to 500%
      • Reduced Ghoul melee damage from 150% to 120%
      • Reduced Ghoul melee proc coefficient from 1 to 0.5
      • Reduced Ghoul spit damage from 100% to 80%
      • Reduced Ghoul cling attack rate from 0.7 to 0.85
      • Increased Sacrifice damage from 700% to 850%
      • Increased Sacrifice radius from 18m to 20m
      • Reduced Tombstone Soul Orb damage from 350% to 200%
      • Removed the ability for Ghouls to inherit your equipment
  • Cleaned up code

1.1.0

    • Now reduces all Exp you gain by 25% per stack (hyperbolically after the 2nd stack)
  • Tweaked rng factor on Mithrix's pizza attack for more variety

  • Reduced Mithrix phase 4 Lunar Wisp damage and attack speed

1.0.0
