Internal Magazine Battle Rifles

Many battle rifles of this era were still experimental prototypes; as such, some still used internal magazines as making detachable magazines took more work and was more expensive to produce. This wasn’t a huge problem for rifles with a ten or more round capacity, but some still only carried five rounds, making it easily to run dry very quickly.

En-Bloc Battle Rifles

While en blocs make it much faster to reload than rifles with detachable magazines, this also limited its ammunition capacity and made it difficult to top off the magazine if the clip was partially full.

Detachable Magazine Battle Rifles

Detachable magazines was becoming the standard for all self-loading rifles, giving them an edge in reload speed and ammunition capacity over rifles with internal magazines. Some still take stripper clips to make topping off the magazines easier.
