ShipHatch
Purchasable roof hatch for the 2 Story Ship: animated trapdoor + ladder connecting the 2nd floor to the ship roof. Works with Wider Ship Mod.ShipHatch
A purchasable Roof Hatch for MelanieMelicious' 2 Story Ship.
Buy it from the terminal and a reinforced access shaft is cut through the hull above the ship's second floor — with a pressure-rated trapdoor, a hand-crank lock wheel, indicator lights and a service ladder. Jetpack onto the roof, crank the hatch open, and drop yourself (or your loot) straight into the second floor. Climb the ladder to get back up.
Features
- Terminal purchase —
buy roof-hatch(default $1500, configurable). Deploys onto the ship immediately when bought, and persists with the save. - A real hole in the roof — the roof mesh is cut at runtime (CSG), so you can physically fall/drop items through it. No teleport fakery.
- Animated trapdoor — ratcheting lock wheel spin, pneumatic hiss, heavy steel clank; openable and closable from the roof and from inside.
- Service ladder — climb from the 2nd floor to the roof and back down.
- Status lights — red when locked, green when open, plus a shaft light.
- Synced in multiplayer — open/close state replicates to all players.
- Smart placement — automatically finds a flat, clear spot on the roof away from the skylight, adapting to Wider Ship Mod and 2 Story Ship layouts.
Requirements
- LethalLib
- 2 Story Ship (the hatch needs the second floor + roof; without it nothing deploys)
- Works with and without Wider Ship Mod

Notes
- The hatch is closed (and climbing blocked) until someone cranks it open.
- If no valid roof spot exists, the mod logs why and falls back to the best available spot rather than doing nothing.
- Selling/resetting the ship restores the original roof cleanly.
