Haunted Harpist

Adds to the game a new enemy called the Haunted Harpist.

The Haunted Harpist is an enemy that initially roams the map while playing its haunting melody on the harp. If provoked during its performance—whether by excessive noise, stunning, or direct attack—the Haunted Harpist will cease its serene music, dropping its harp to engage aggressively with anyone it perceives.

Dealing with the angry ghost may prove difficult, but it is worth it to obtain the harp.

The ethereal entity known as the Haunted Harpist is categorized as a spectral presence of uncertain origin. Its form is reminiscent of the classic depiction of a phantom, lacking distinct humanoid features and attire, with an outline that shrouds its core in mystery. Its most notable characteristic is the ancient harp it perpetually clutches, strumming melodies that echo through the desolate halls of the mansion it inhabits.

If disturbed by excessive noise or a deliberate attempt to disrupt its eerie concerto, the Haunted Harpist will abandon its harmonious routine and become a relentless pursuer. For explorers encountering the Haunted Harpist, it is recommended to move with stealth and avoid interrupting its performance.

Future Updates

Aside from bug fixes, the future updates will come in the form of a new ghost, which will have a unique instrument and a unique set of abilities and functions which will make each ghost very different.

If you REALLY want spoilers, then feel free to look at the github code, however I advise you to wait and see (and also because I change my mind a lot)

Dissonance Lag Fix

It is highly recommended you install the DissonanceLagFix mod, which will reduce any potential lag caused when an instrument is played for the first time in a game

  • Fixed bug that resets people's configs.

  • Made the Phantom Piper's exit teleport bigger.
  • Added a shield to the Ethereal Enforcer. The shield absorbs a single hit regardless of damage. The shield then takes a specified amount of time (configurable) to regenerate.
  • Ethereal Enforcers should hunt separately now.
  • Added sound effect to the Phantom Piper's exit teleport.
  • Added pick-up and drop sound effects to bagpipes.
  • Added drop sound effect to harp.
  • Added proper scrap icons for the harp and bagpipes.
  • Changed the default spawn rate of the Phantom Piper from 0 to 5. It might mess up the value that you put there if you changed it. I'm confident that the Phantom Piper and Ethereal Enforcers are stable for regular people to use, but ill keep it in "beta" for a few more days.

  • Ethereal Enforcer now has a delay between seeing a player, and shooting them.
  • The Ethereal Enforcer's reload time is now longer.
  • The Ethereal Enforcer's turn speed is now slower, and customizable.

  • The bagpipes now disappear properly when the Phantom Piper manages to escape out the map.

  • Added the following configs:

    • Harp Ghost's view width.
    • Harp Ghost's view range.
    • Harp Ghost's proximity awareness.
    • Whether the Harp Ghost can take damage from non-player entities.
    • An insane amount of audio setting configs for the harp. I'm not going to write them all down because there are loads (don't mess with them if you don't know what you are doing though).

  • Changed the max open door speed config to "open door speed multiplier when in chase mode" because the previous one was a bit useless and didnt really make sense

  • Made the plugin try to load the instruments' audio files on startup to hopefully kill the lag caused when a harp is first played (music) in a game. The DissonanceLagFix mod is also now added as a dependency to help with the lag just in-case the plugin was unable to load the audio files on startup.
