The Thunderstore package is now
Y4NGZ313-MonitorTakeoverwith the display name Monitor Takeover, and the readme was rewritten to the shared Y4NGZ layout. The assembly, plugin GUID, config file andMonitorTakeoversfolder are unchanged; only the package name, icon and BepInEx display name differ. Install it in place of theY4NGZMonitorTakeovercandidate. -
Quota takeovers can show a different video on each ship monitor. Three new keys in
Media:RandomPerMonitorMedia(off by default),PerMonitorMediaPool- a semicolon-separated list of filenames fromBepInEx/config/Y4NGZCompany/MonitorTakeoversand/or full YouTube links, semicolons because a link may contain a comma - andMaxConcurrentMediaPlayers(1-6, default 3), which caps how many videos decode at once and is what protects performance. With the toggle off the takeover is unchanged: one video on every screen, exactly as before. The host picks one random layout per takeover and every player derives the same one from it, so the same monitor shows the same slot for everyone, with and without GeneralImprovements Better Monitors. The bottom-left map screen always stays on the main video. A player missing a pool file, or one whose YouTube link has not finished caching, drops that entry with a single log line and shows the rest - the layout still matches, the content on that one screen does not. A video that never decodes falls back to mirroring the main one rather than opening a second decoder. A player on an older build sees the ordinary single-video takeover: the plan rides an additive named message, so the protocol revision stays 1. The GeneralImprovements wall needs Y4NGZCore 1.0.6 or newer for per-screen video; on an older Core it shows the main video everywhere with one warning line. -
Quota takeovers can play a soundtrack of your own, from a local MP3/WAV/OGG in
BepInEx/config/Y4NGZCompany/MonitorTakeoversor from a full YouTube link. Three new keys inAudio:SoundtrackMode(Offby default,ReplaceorMix),SoundtrackSource, andSoundtrackVolume(0-1, default 0.8, independent ofMumble Volume).Replacesilences the power-down whine, the alarm, the drone bed and the mumble voices for the whole takeover;Mixlayers the track over them. WithSoundtrackMode = Off- the default - the takeover audio is unchanged. A soundtrack mutes the configured video's own track even whenEnableMediaAudiois on, and setting the soundtrack to the same YouTube link as the media reuses that one video's audio instead of downloading or decoding it twice. Files sync by the host's filename plus SHA-256 exactly likeAlarmAudioFile; links are cached per player. Any failure - a missing file, a hash mismatch, a link that is not cached yet, or a playback error - falls back to the built-in audio with a single log line. A peer on an older build hears the built-in audio: the plan rides an additive named message rather than changing the takeover payload, so the protocol revision stays 1.
Changed
- The config file reads as plainly named sections instead of the numbered leftovers from the pre-split shared file:
General,Media,Audio,Presentation,Rewards Ceremony,Quota 1throughQuota 9, andDiagnostics. No setting was added, removed, or renamed - only the sections moved. An existing config is migrated once on startup with every customized value carried across, the old numbered sections removed, and the previous file kept beside it ascom.y4ngz.company.monitortakeover.cfg.pre-schema-v1-<timestamp>.bak; the second and third startups leave the file byte-for-byte unchanged.
Removed
- The unfinished quota ending is gone: the ending sequence, its forced-route lock and its
73 - Monitor Takeover - Endingconfig section no longer exist. It was already unreachable because the moon it needed was de-shipped, so nothing changes on a normal install. Quota takeovers and the quota-three Mask Man takeover are unaffected. An old config file that still carries[Ending](or[73 - Monitor Takeover - Ending]) keys still imports cleanly; those keys are ignored.
1.0.0 - 2026-08-31
Initial standalone release.
Fixed
- The takeover video actually plays instead of falling back to static.
- Takeover mumbles and Mask Man audio are audible again, and the final broadcast and Mask Man congratulations show video instead of a black screen.
- The takeover starts on time instead of stalling for several seconds before the dialogue.
- Quota reward announcements cover all three large lower monitors with GeneralImprovements Better Monitors.
- Monitors show animated static instead of an empty black wall if the takeover video cannot start.
