Add a new trainer, an ex member of the Cabal of Wind that can teach you very powerful spells. This spells might even make you more powerful that you should, but it will come a a price. (This mod add also a recipe for an armor enchantment on the same theme)

Dark Wind
This mod add a new teacher that focus around a new way of make use of reveled soul, consuming them and trapping them to be a source of power for the caster. Notice that this is supposed to be the moral drawback of the pre-breakthrough part of the tree. The idea of the mod is in fact to add to the game "dark magic" in a way that fit the setting.
After the breakthrough in the tree things start to change and the drawback are no longer just moral. The breakthrough itself can be detrimental when having few souls, thing that make the decision of spending them to fuel the other spell not easy at times. But such sacrifice is well worth it, with enough souls (1000) the Dark Ritual will allow the caster to make a breakthrough in a skill tree of their choice. But not only the ritual will take the hard earned souls,* it will also irreversibly corrupt the soul of the caster, that will grow more and more dependant on the souls to avoid the consequence with each time they use the ritual.
But the dark ritual is not the only way to obtain great power by using the souls of others, the Ritual of Dual Mind allow the caster to learn a skill usually blocked by having learned another.**
The skill tree also offer two other ability that consume the trapped souls to unleash powerful attack on your enemies, and some passives that empower you based on how many trapped souls you are carrying.
If all of this is not enough you can use the bottle found near the instructor to use some soul (500 that you need to have on you) as an alchemical ingredient, to produce an incense that is used in an enchantment that greatly improve the squire armor to be of better use to a mage. The same incense can also be used with any main weapon to make to enchant it, but the effect is not really straightforward.

P.S. Dark Ritual only work for vanilla skill tree, and only one active skill of those before the Breakthrough is the correct one to be cast to give it the reference. Also avoid using over skills for ~5 seconds before start using the skills of the chosen skill tree, I used hidden status effect to let Dark Ritual know what breakthrough to give, if many status effect are active at once it will probably give one breakthrough at random among those.
*the base mod is set to give 5 soul for each Soul Spot consumed but i intend to add to other mod that will increase it to 10 or reduce it to 1 to give some balancing options.
**If at least one is an active skill, and that is the one that was learned first, only 8 slots are available to active skill so I used this as a way to balance it.
***Unfortunately I didn't find a way to make more than one item spawn near the teacher, and the bottle was more important, so no recipe. Also, if the mod is installed and a game was already started the bottle might not spawn before the area reset. If you have problem its ID is (-135885)
Why?
I wanted to introduce some kind of "evil" magic in the game with high trade of between bonus and malus to balance it. Also i wanted to create a way to allow to go beyond the limitation of the 3 breakthrough that could be felt like it was earned, in my test playthrough I managed to use the Dark Ritual only two time because of how much time it is required to spend collecting souls to do it. This resulted in having only one extra vanilla breakthrough that one would have without this skill tree.
