Vanilla Inventory Plus

Vanilla Inventory Plus — is a configurable UI mod for Valheim that improves inventory and storage management while keeping the game’s visual style. It adds Nearby Stash, allowing you to move matching items into nearby chests using an in-game button or hotkey, as well as sorting buttons for both the player inventory and storage containers. Button positions, sizes, visibility, and other features can be customized through Configuration Manager.

Features

Nearby Stash

  • Quickly moves matching items from your inventory into nearby containers that already hold those items.
  • Set the search radius and choose whether to use only player-built containers.
  • Protect the first inventory row (hotbar) from being moved.
  • Use the button in the player inventory or the configurable hotkey.
  • Respects container access and ward restrictions.
  • Skips unsupported transport storage such as carts and ships.

Player inventory and storage sorting

  • Sort the player inventory or the open storage by Name, Weight, or Type.
  • Click a sort button again to reverse the order.
  • Player inventory sorting leaves the hotbar untouched.
  • Matching partial stacks are combined where space is available.

Additional storage buttons

  • Stack All combines matching items into available stacks.
  • Take All moves items from the open container to your inventory.
  • Choose whether the custom Take All button uses an icon or vanilla-style text.
  • Choose which custom buttons to show and whether to hide the original vanilla Stack All and Take All buttons.

Toolbars and stat panels

  • Compact buttons are available in the player inventory and storage windows.
  • Choose a toolbar position and adjust its width, height, spacing, and X/Y offsets.
  • Extend either window background downward by 30 UI pixels.
  • Show compact weight and armor stat panels in the extended background area. These panels require the matching background extension to be enabled.
  • Tint custom button icons with the configurable icon color.

Compatibility

Extra Slots is optional. When it is installed, Vanilla Inventory Plus uses its API to identify the normal player inventory area. Player sorting and Nearby Stash ignore Extra Slots' special or hidden storage slots.

If Extra Slots is detected but its inventory-area API cannot be read safely, the affected player-inventory operation is skipped rather than using unknown slots.

Some features have not been fully tested in combination with every other inventory, storage, or UI mod. Compatibility issues, visual glitches, or unexpected behavior may occur when using multiple mods that modify the same game interfaces.

Mods that fully replace Valheim's inventory UI may require separate compatibility work.
