Fenrir Curse

Embrace the beast within. Fenrir Curse allows you to permanently transform into a fearsome Fenring when the sun goes down, completely changing how you fight and traverse the world of Valheim.

Features

• The Curse of the Beast: The curse is transmitted directly by surviving an attack from a Wolf, Fenring, Ulv, or Cultist. Once infected, you gain the ability to transform into a Wolf by pressing H, and into a Fenring at night by pressing G.
• Beast Unleashed: As a Fenring, you experience a massive boost to your movement and jump speed, complete immunity to fall damage, and a powerful claw attack to tear your enemies apart.
• Empower the Curse: Seek the Bog Witch to empower the curse (speak to someone in her house).
• Reversible Curse: Craft the Purifying Potion at the Cauldron to cleanse your blood and return to your human form permanently (if you really want to cure the curse and go back to being a boring human, that is).

Gamepad

• Transform and howl: hold R3 to open the radial menu and pick the Fenrir Curse group. It holds your beast form (G), your Wolf or Ulv form (H) and, while you are a Fenring or a Cultist, the Howl (O).
• Attacks in beast form: RT is the left-click attack, LT the right-click attack (the Cultist breathes fire while LT is held), and the secondary attack button is the middle-click attack.

Disclosure

This mod utilizes only in-game assets and does not use any external components. The code was written and debugged with an AI agent.

Development & Feedback

This is the first stable release of Fenrir Curse, but the mod is actively in development! We plan to add more gameplay elements and refine the mechanics in future updates. Any feedback, bug reports, or suggestions for new features are more than welcome.

Admin & Debug

• Curseberry: An admin-only debug item used to manually trigger the infection for testing purposes.

Items & Crafting

• Purifying Potion: Cures the curse.
• Recipe: 1 Mead Base: Frost Resist, 5 Onions, 1 Silver. Crafted at the Cauldron.

Installation

1. Install BepInExPack Valheim and Jotunn.
2. Extract the Fenrir_Curse folder into your BepInEx/plugins directory.
3. FenrirCurse.dll is the only file needed. The old fenrirbundle asset file is no longer used and can be deleted.

• Multiplayer: transformations are now synced. Other players see your beast, its attacks, its sounds and the Cultist's flames. Every player needs the mod.
• Gamepad support: transformations and Howl in the radial menu, beast attacks on the controller's attack buttons.

Bugfixes

• Transforming no longer casts your real Forsaken Power and puts it on cooldown.
• Beast attacks no longer fire while the inventory, a chest, the map, the chat or a menu is open.
• The Wolf form's speed buff no longer stays after returning to human form.
• The Cultist's flames no longer keep burning if you turn back mid-attack.
• Dying while transformed no longer makes the next G press revert instead of transform.
