✨ Features
Craft from chests: crafting stations, and hand-crafting from your inventory, use materials from nearby chests and containers.
How it works
- Anything you can reach within the range counts toward a recipe. The game takes the materials from your inventory first, then from the chests.
- The crafting menu shows how many of each material you have in total.
- A Chest lines button beside the crafting tabs draws lines from the station to every chest in use; a Range button cycles the distance (5 to 30 m).

Known clashes
- Adventure Backpacks ("Craft From Backpack"): handled. The backpack pays its part first and the chests pay only what is still missing. The backpack is never used as a chest.
- Other craft-from-chests mods (AzuCraftyBoxes, CraftFromContainers (aedenthorn, and its forks), Craft From Chests (Toxo), CraftFromChestsPlus, Teflon Ted's Craft From Chests, StoreAndCraft, SmartCraft-Storage, and ValheimPlus while its
CraftFromChestsection is on): they also take from chests, and two such mods count every chest twice. When one is installed this mod stands down and leaves it to them; the log says so once. - Any mod that refuses a payment or already paid: respected. It runs after other mods and does nothing if they cancelled.

👥 Multiplayer
Who needs it: Only the players who want it.
It only takes from chests you could open yourself: never one someone else has open, one behind a ward that keeps you out, or a private chest.
When a chest belongs to another player's game (the game that owns a chest is the only one that can change it), it asks that game to take the items out instead of taking the chest from them. Two players crafting from the same chests are served one after the other, so nothing is paid twice and the numbers in the crafting window stay put. This needs the mod on every player's game; a player on an older version never answers, so crafting from their chests is refused after a few seconds. With Multi User Chest installed, a chest someone has open is still used.
The host decides: how far it reaches (Radius). While you play on their world their values replace yours (your file isn't changed); a host without the mod leaves everyone their own.

The translations were made with AI, so a few words may be off. To correct one, or to add your language, put a file in BepInEx/config/translations/com.quad.craftfromchests/ named after the game's name for the language (German.json, Italian.json, Japanese.json...) with only the lines you change, copied from English.json (it wins over the built-in one). Or tell us the better words and we'll put them in for everyone.
⚙️ Settings
In BepInEx/config/com.quad.craftfromchests.cfg, made the first time the game runs with the mod. r2modman and Thunderstore Mod Manager edit it under Config editor.

📜 Recent changes
- 1.6.0 Fix for crafting with other players around: materials in the crafting window no longer appear and disappear when another player crafts, opens a chest or uses a station nearby (Multi User Chest included). Chests are no longer taken from the player whose game owns them: this mod now asks that game to take the items out, and serves two players one after the other, so nothing is paid twice. Needs this version on every player's game (an older version does not answer). With Multi User Chest, a chest someone has open is still used.
- 1.5.3 Settings: edits to the config file now apply while the game runs (a server owner no longer has to restart), and a server's admins can change the server's settings from their own game with Configuration Manager, where other players see them greyed out. Your config file always keeps your own values while you play on a server (saving it there could write the server's in). Players on an older version still get the server's settings.
- 1.5.2 Fix: after leaving a world for the main menu and joining one again, the chests claimed just before could no longer be looked up, and crafting from chests could stop working until a restart (the game renumbers its object ids on each join).
Every change is on the Changelog tab.
