Runic Bow

Overview

A bow with no quiver. Conjure the Runic Bow from runes, feed it Mana instead of arrows, and every shot strikes as Ethereal — once you have Arcane Syntax, casting it again with the bow in hand looses a Banishing Shot.

Rune combination

Everything is cast with Egoth → Shim, the opposite of Conjure Blade. What you get depends on Arcane Syntax and whether the Runic Bow is already out:

Runic Bow

• Each shot costs 5 Mana and a small amount of Stamina — no normal arrows needed
• Deals 32 Ethereal damage and 10 Impact damage
• Lasts 180 seconds once conjured; a status effect indicates the bow is active
• The Runic Arrow is conjured on the first draw, is not consumed by shots, and vanishes with the bow
• If Runic Prefix is learned, the conjured bow is automatically infused with Greater Ethereal Imbue, raising it to 50 Ethereal damage

Banishing Shot

• Powerful magical shot capable of banishing your foe beyond the veil
• Deals 2.0x the Runic Bow's Ethereal damage and 1.5x its Impact damage
• Banishes the enemy for 30 seconds — locked, untargetable and invisible while it lasts
• On release the enemy resumes exactly what it was doing, as if nothing had happened
• Visual and sound cues quicken as the banish nears its end
• Reloading a save while an enemy is banished releases it immediately, rather than starting the 30 seconds again
• Does not banish bosses

Compatibility

• Requires Custom Effects
• SideLoader Extended Effects is optional — with recent versions an imbue covers the whole bow, rather than sitting as a sphere at the grip
• Should be compatible with any mod that touches runic magic as long as the Egoth → Shim combo is available
• Not compatible with Sinai's Mana Bow
