She Wolf — become a she-wolf in Valheim (preview)

Preview (0.x). Everything below works and has been tested in game, but the mod is still evolving, and settings or balance may change. Languages: in-game texts are in English, or in French if your game is set to French.

Hunt wolves, collect their pheromones and brew an essence at the mead cauldron. Drink it, and answer the call of the pack: you become a she-wolf for 45 minutes.

How it works

1. Wolf Pheromone Drops: wolves you kill have a 50 % chance to drop 1 to 5 of them.
2. The essence: 50 drops make a Wolf Pheromone Essence at the mead cauldron.
3. The transformation: drinking the essence turns you into a she-wolf for 45 minutes. There is no way back early. Logging out does not end it, and neither does dying: you respawn as a she-wolf and can still recover your tombstone.

As a she-wolf

• Body and marking: you get the wolf's own model and animations, with a brown lock of hair on the forehead so friends can tell you from wild wolves.
• Fighting: bite with the left mouse button, and leap with paw strikes with the middle button. All your damage is multiplied by 1.5.
• Speed: you run 40 % faster.
• Instinct: living creatures glow within 45 m. Red means hostile, orange means animal, and blue means player or tamed creature.
• Howl: press H for a long howl that every player hears from far away. You raise your head to the sky and open your jaws.
• Food: you can eat raw meat.
• Wolf interface: your vision is framed with fur and turns red as your health drops. The round emblem shows your remaining time as a ring of chevrons, and windows get a black and gold look.
• Pups: stay close to a tamed, fed and calm wolf, and hearts appear now and then. A litter is then on the way, and after 3 minutes 1 or 2 tamed wolf cubs are born at your feet. If the transformation ends first, they are born just before you turn back.
• Collar and leash: another player can put a collar and leash on you with the Use key. They lead the way and you follow, and the same key removes it. If they go through a portal, you go with them.
• Paws, not hands: you can't equip anything or use weapons, tools, workbenches, forges or cooking stations, and you can't handle objects. You can still open doors, sleep, recover your tombstone, pick items up, and pet or call a tamed animal so it follows you.

Configuration

BepInEx/config/com.Azura.shewolf.cfg is created at the first launch, with all settings in the [Louve] section. Each setting is described in English and in French. The main ones:

Installation

• Who needs it: install the mod for every player and on the server. Other players need it to see you as a she-wolf, and the server needs it to keep the new items.
• With a mod manager (r2modman, Thunderstore Mod Manager): click Install. BepInExPack Valheim is installed with it.
• By hand: install BepInExPack Valheim, then put SheWolf.dll in Valheim/BepInEx/plugins/.

Tested with Valheim 1.0.16 and BepInExPack Valheim 5.4.2350.

En français

Préversion. Tuez des loups pour récolter leurs phéromones, distillez-en une essence au chaudron à hydromel, buvez-la : vous voilà louve pour 45 minutes. Le mod est en français si votre jeu est réglé en français.

• Butin : chaque loup tué a 50 % de chance de laisser 1 à 5 Gouttes de phéromones de louve. Il en faut 50 pour une Essence de phéromones de louve.
• Transformation : 45 minutes, sans retour possible. Ni la déconnexion ni la mort n'y mettent fin.
• Sous forme de louve :
  • modèle et animations du loup, avec une mèche brune pour vous distinguer des loups sauvages ;
  • morsure (clic gauche) et bond (clic milieu), dégâts x1,5 ;
  • +40 % de vitesse ;
  • instinct qui fait briller les êtres vivants à 45 m ;
  • hurlement avec la touche H ;
  • interface louve.
• Portée : près d'un loup apprivoisé, 1 ou 2 louveteaux naissent après 3 minutes.
• Collier et laisse : un autre joueur peut vous les passer avec la touche Utiliser.
• Réglages dans BepInEx/config/com.Azura.shewolf.cfg, section [Louve].
• Installation : chez tous les joueurs et sur le serveur.
