VoidBreach
Board a HOLLOW hive ship: a new main objective with generated multi-deck hives, hull turrets, an airlock breach, power relays, zero-g sections, the HOLLOW Warden boss and a self-destruct escape. Needs Void Guns.Void Breach
Board a HOLLOW hive ship. Void Breach adds a new main objective to Void Crew's endless runs: the HOLLOW Hive, a generated hive ship that sits in its sector with turrets on its hull. Fight past the turrets, breach the airlock, fight through its decks, restore power to the core, destroy the Warden, and get out before it self-destructs.
Requires Void Guns (its guns and enemies are what you fight with and against). Void Drones is optional: its Hive Mind autopilot knows how to park at the hive's airlock.
The mission
- The hull: HOLLOW turrets shoot your ship while it's moving, players on EVA, and drones. They can be destroyed.
- Breach: fly over on EVA (there's a jetpack rack just inside the airlock for the way back) and hold the panel in the airlock tunnel to open it.
- The decks: every hive is generated, with up to five decks joined by zero-g ladder shafts. Rooms wake their defenders as you come near.
- Power: restore the marked relays. Each one brings reinforcements, and one of them turns the gravity back on in a damaged section.
- The core: the HOLLOW Warden, a 10 m four-legged boss in three phases. It has a laser sweep, shockwaves you jump over, armour plates that come off to show weak points, Sentries, and in its last phase it climbs the walls. The core locks when the fight starts, and resets if nobody alive is left inside.
- Escape: the Warden's death opens the vault (alloys, guns, a heavy shield cell each) and starts a 2-minute self-destruct. The mission is done when everyone's back aboard, or when the hive blows (with anyone still inside).
