📖 The Legend of Immorterra
In the age before memory, young Odin forged a secret realm between Asgard and Midgard, a proving ground called Holrfold, the Hollow World. Here, the mightiest warriors would face endless trials, rising again after each death, their essence woven back into the land itself. What began as divine ambition became eternal torment.
The Valkyrie Hulda chose the worthiest souls to populate this realm: Sigrid Raven-Woman, whose visions never failed; Halvard Mountain-Brother, a giant who held bridges against armies; Gunnar Silver-Tongue, who won wars before blades were drawn. Many followed, and at first they rejoiced, they had cheated death!
But joy curdled to horror. Centuries passed. Warriors became hollow, ground down by endless combat without purpose. Lovers grew weary. Minds cracked under eternal memory. When Hulda witnessed Halvard, once the mightiest of them all, begging for true death, she understood: Odin's experiment had become a perversion of everything a warrior's death should honor.
In defiance, Hulda freed Halvard from his torment. Odin's wrath was swift and absolute. He cursed her essence into the very roots and stones of the realm, transforming her followers into the monsters and beasts that now plague the land. Holrfold became Immorterra, the Deathless Lands, a prison suspended between worlds.
Now, unfortunate souls find themselves trapped in Immorterra's trials. These warriors strive together to uncover the realm's dark history and perhaps carve themselves free from this hell before their purpose turns to ash and their names are forgotten.
Thus is told the saga of Immorterra, where Odin's wisdom became folly, and a Valkyrie's mercy became her doom.
