Odins Dusk Horn
A low horn a couple of minutes before nightfall, and Odin's honest opinion of your walk home. Press Home for time to dark and the way to your bed. Client-side. From the makers of Odin's Almanac.Odin's Dusk Horn
The sun is low, the bag is full, and home is... somewhere back there. A couple of minutes before night falls, a low horn sounds and Odin tells you how far you are from your bed, and whether your legs will get you there before dark.
- One horn and one line per dusk: "Night in 2 minutes. Your bed is 900 m away. Run, or find a roof."
- The estimate uses your running speed. Swamps and mountains don't count against you, so take "you'll make it" with a pinch of salt.
- Quiet while you're indoors, asleep, dead, or within
HomeRadiusof your bed.
How long till dark? (Home)
Press Home at any time for the minutes until nightfall and the distance and direction to your bed.
Client-side only
Only you need it. It reads the game's own clock and your bed position: no new items, no network messages, no world data. Works in single-player, on dedicated servers and with friends who don't have it.

Things to know
- With no bed set, Odin measures to your world spawn instead.
- Minutes are minutes of play on the game's clock: a whole Valheim day is 20 of them, and night is the last quarter and the first quarter.
- The horn comes from the direction of home.
- Found a bug or have an idea? Tell Odin in
Odin's Tavern. The
ravens read every note; your
BepInEx\LogOutput.loghelps them read faster.
Also from Odin's tavern
Odin's Second Hand: when an enemy gets close, Odin swaps your bow for your best melee weapon against it, and hands the bow back once it's gone. After the horn, things get close faster. Odin keeps the right weapon handy for the walk home.
Odin's Almanac: press K for the weather. Between the two of them, nothing should surprise you after sunset.
Odin's Free Refills: no stamina costs while the coast is clear. Handy when Odin says "you won't" and you'd like to prove him wrong.
Odin's Wanted Posters: look at a creature and press E to see its health, weaknesses and drops. For whatever comes out after the horn.
Odin's Saga: sleep or log out and Odin reads you the saga of your day; press J for a lifetime of deeds. Make it to bed in time and you'll hear it.
Odin's Hearth: press N at home to see your comfort level, what's counting, and the cheapest piece to build next. Something worth running home for.
Odin's Pantry: press P to see your foods, what you could cook right now, and Odin's best three-food pick for your biome. Supper's waiting when you get in.
Odin's Raven Returns: after you die, a raven guards your grave; press H to see where it is, what killed you and what's still waiting there. For the nights you didn't make it.
Odin's Drunk Cam: drink a mead and the world sways; the more meads, the more it sways. Purely visual, with an intensity slider and an off key. The walk home is longer after three.
Odin's Weapon Memories: every weapon remembers what it has done and earns a name from it, with its maker's name engraved for good. Nights on the road make for the best names.
Odin's Stone Whispers: Odin whispers when a Mysterious Rock is near, and 9 turns your gaze to it. One more rock before the horn, surely.
Odin's Knot: log out and Odin asks what you were doing; log back in and he reads it back. Press ' to retie it. If the horn catches you far from home, log out where you stand and tie a knot. The walk can wait till tomorrow.
