Odins Wanted Posters
Look at a creature to see its wanted poster: health, stars, weaknesses and drops. A companion to Odin's Free Refills.Odin's Wanted Posters
Huginn and Muninn have been busy. Every beast in Valheim has a file, and Odin has slipped you a copy.
Look at a creature and press E to see its wanted poster, in the same style as the game's own item tooltips:
- Level: with its stars written out plainly
- Health: current and maximum, so you know how much fight is left
- Weak to / Resists / Immune to: blunt, slash, pierce, fire, frost, lightning, poison and spirit
- Drops: what it can drop, and how likely each drop is at its star level
- A one-line remark from Odin, because he has opinions
No item to craft, no book to read. If you can see it, Odin has a poster for it.
How the poster is filled in
Everything comes from the game's own data about the creature you're looking at, not from a built-in list. Creatures added by other mods get accurate posters too, and the posters stay correct after Valheim patches rebalance things.
The poster reuses the game's own tooltip, so it looks like it belongs.
When and where it shows
By default, look at a creature and press E. The poster stays up for 5
seconds and keeps its health up to date, even if you look away. Press E again to
restart the timer, or on another creature to switch. E is also the Use key, but
wild creatures can't be used, so the two don't get in each other's way (tamed
animals still get their pat). Change the key with ShowKey, or set Trigger to
Look to show the poster whenever you're looking at a creature, no key needed.
Placement picks where the poster goes:
- Crosshair (default): just beside the crosshair.
- AboveCreature: floating over the creature's head, following it around.
- Pinned: a fixed spot of your choosing. Open your inventory and the poster appears at its pinned spot. Drag it with the mouse, and it stays there when you close the inventory.
Configuration
Settings live in BepInEx/config/hevyh2o.valheim.odinswantedposters.cfg. If you
have a Configuration Manager mod installed, you can also change them in game
(usually F1); this mod doesn't need one.

Things to know
- Your eyes only. Posters are drawn on your screen. Works in single-player and multiplayer, and nobody else needs the mod.
- Hidden when you're busy. No posters while your inventory, map, menu or chat is open, or when the HUD is hidden.
- It's a reference, not a spoiler machine. If you'd rather find out the hard
way what a Fuling drops, turn on
UnseenDropsHidden. - Rare drops are streaky. For drops with a 30% chance or less, the game evens out your luck over time. The percentage shown is the average.
Also from Odin's tavern
Odin's Free Refills: no stamina costs while the coast is clear. The refills tell you when it's safe; the posters tell you what's coming when it isn't.
Odin's Almanac: press K for a forecast of the next weather changes in your biome. The posters cover what's waiting on the shore; the almanac covers the sky over it.
Odin's Saga: sleep or log out and Odin reads you the saga of your day; press J for a lifetime of deeds. Every beast on a poster is a line in a saga waiting to happen.
Odin's Hearth: press N at home to see your comfort level, what's counting, and the cheapest piece to build next. The posters warn you about the Troll; the hearth is where you recover from meeting it.
Odin's Pantry: press P to see your foods, what you could cook right now, and Odin's best three- food pick for your biome. Hunt what the posters point at, cook what the pantry suggests.
Odin's Raven Returns: after you die, a raven guards your grave; press H to see where it is, what killed you and what's still waiting there. When the poster's warning came too late, the raven shows you where you left your things.
Odin's Drunk Cam: drink a mead and the world sways; the more meads, the more it sways. Purely visual, with an intensity slider and an off key. Raise a horn to the bounty you just brought down.
Odin's Weapon Memories: every weapon remembers what it has killed and earns a name from how it was used, like Storied Frost Greataxe of the Troll's Bane. Read the poster, bring down the bounty, and your blade remembers it.
